People from different walks of life are facing lot of problems when someone in family falls sick. The people are always bothered not just by disease, but also because of the fear of hospital’s exploitation.
The main reasons for exploitation are
1) Some fraudulent corporate hospitals are purely money oriented. Their motto is to earn money- whether the patient lives or dies is immaterial.
2) For the above, they have a very strong system which is impossible to be broken by anyone.
3) The biggest drawback is that even they manage government departments Like health, police and drugs etc. it Means they will never take any action even if they find fault with hospitals. Many a times, they are hand in glow with them.
4) The most pathetic thing is, no one can question them when they do wrong treatment to patient because Medicinal knowledge is not known to anyone except to the people of the concerned department.
The exploitation cycle never ends; it will go on and on and on
…………
What are the major fraudulent things that happen in hospitals?
1) Unnecessary diagnostic tests: Which gives high profits to the hospitals.
1) loss to the patient financially, physically and mentally.
2) Very high room rents and handling charges.
3) Substitute of branded medicines which provides very high profits to the hospitals and these substitute medicines are not equal standards as compared to the original branded medicines prescribed by the doctors.
The major negligence while taking precautions which endangers the life of the patient.
Hospitals never follow WHO protocols while treating a patient. For example:
a) While giving the IV preparations, the doctor and the staff members have to take utmost precautions like sterilizing hands with sanitizes. However, they don’t use new glows while inserting IV Cannula in to veins. Most of the times this type of practice leading to nosocomial infections to the patients. There is a high chances of patients death due to these infections than the original disease.
Same is the case even during diagnostic procedures:
a) While taking the patient to the diagnostic procedures the staff members use general elevators. These are highly crowded and infectious.
b) The reliability of the diagnostic test are many times doubtful.
“Red Alert” human pathogen is generating alarm among the medical fraternity, arising largely from its extensive antibiotic resistance spectrum. This phenomenon of multi drug-resistant.
(MDR) pathogens has increasingly become a cause for serious concern with regard to both nosocomial and community acquired infections. Indeed, the World Health Organization (WHO) has recently identified antimicrobial resistance as one of the three most important problems facing human health.
1)Enterococcus faecium,
2)Staphylococcus aureus,
3) Klebsiella pneumoniae,
4)Acinetobacter baumannii, 5)Pseudomonas aeruginosa and 6) Enterobacter spp.
The solution for never ending problem is :
1. Encouraging the area nursing homes or Hospitals.
1. Maintain hospitals with utmost hygiene and avoid unnecessary procedures.
2. Upgrading the hospital infrastructure to the most possible extent.
3. Issuing medicines top brands only with high quality.
4. Issuing top quality surgical items.
5. Appointing qualified and well trained staff especially nursing department.
6. Ensure transparency in treatment and disclosure to relatives of the patients.
7. Encourage reputed diagnostic centers.
8. Lastly but not least, hospital has to follow WHO protocols.
